YU (Essar) Kenya Mobile Internet settings

In order to enjoy YU’s cheapest data tariff plans on your handset, you will need to have a GPRS enabled phone and manually configure it to access internet using YU (Essar) network. Currently only Safaricom operates on 3G platforms, other service providers still use GPRS YU included. However with other service providers like Safaricom, Orange and Airtel, you can automatically configure GPRS setting send by your provider of which you will only need to confirm by saving or storing to start accessing internet on your cell phone.

 On your phone’s menu, go to the internet settings either on configuration setting from phone settings commonly on Nokia handsets or web then settings if you are using other makes. You can as well refer to your Phone book to identify exact location where this setting will apply.
Input the following values in their respective fields;

a.       APN: Internet
b.      Username: -
c.       Password:-
YU MMS Settings
MMS setting will enable sharing of phone contents like pictures, images and sounds from your mobile phone using data connection.

On your phone’s menu, go to the internet settings and look for mms settings.
Input the following values in their respective fields;
a.       APN: Internet
b.      Username: -
c.       Password:-
d.      WAP Gateway IP address for MMS: 10.4.16.6
e.       Messaging Server URL: http://10.4.16.22/servlets/mms
YU Wap Settings
On your phone’s menu, go to the internet settings and look for mms settings.
Input the following values in their respective fields;
a.       APN: Internet
b.      Username: -
c.       Password:-
d.      WAP Gateway IP address: 10.4.16.6
e.       WAP Server URL: http://wap.yu.co.ke
f.        Port: 8080
